To steer
People with Contergan damage or without arms find it difficult to steer a bicycle. But now there is the PedalPilot rehab bike. This means you can ride a bike again despite Contergan damage and without arms.
With the PedalPilot you only steer with your legs. You steer by swinging the front frame to the left or right with your legs. Arms are not needed to drive.
Fun factor
The PedalPilot is ideal for people with disabilities in their arms or hands. But it is also very attractive for people without disabilities because driving and steering is great fun. It is also easy to learn and intuitive to drive.
Seat
The PedalPilot is freely accessible at the front. You can simply get in and take a seat. You sit comfortably in the seat, lean back against the backrest and power on and enjoy the ride.
Brakes
You brake the PedalPilot using the coaster brake. This coaster brake brakes the front wheel of the tricycle well and safely, as it cannot roll over when braking. The coaster brake alone is actually sufficient. But the law requires a second brake. That's why the PedalPilot also has a knee-operated front wheel brake.

The PedalPilot has an 8-speed hub gear. This is particularly low-maintenance. You operate the gear switch with your knee.
Performance and speed
The PedalPilot not only looks sporty, it is sporty. The PedalPilot is quite light for a trike and it has low air resistance. It is fast on the flat and strong on the hill.
Baggage
The PedalPilot is incredibly versatile. There is enough space behind the seat to transport luggage. As a tricycle it stands safely and can be easily loaded and unloaded. This makes it suitable as a pack animal for your shopping or as a touring bike.
